October Newsletter

Dear JRDC Families,

September was AMAZING! I am very proud of all the students in my classes as well as all the classes I have been watching from the window, keep up the hard work!

I would like to congratulate everyone who tried out for the JRDC Dance Team, it was not easy and everyone gave it their all.

Today, October 2nd is the last day to order bling apparel from

Parents, please speak to your children and make sure they know not to exit the studio without you, we have a spacious waiting room; there is no reason for dancers to be waiting on the sidewalk. In addition, all parents of dancers 6 and under: effective immediately, dancers will be dismissed by name to a parent, if you are going to be late please let a receptionist know so we can keep your child behind the desk until you arrive.

Please remember to wear clean sneakers to hip hop. Ballet students 7 and up should be in pink tights, black bodysuit and a bun at all times. There is no candy or gum chewing in the dance  studio.

We would like to wish Ms. Kim good luck as she accepted a job with Rosie O’Donnell and give a warm welcome to Ms. Sarah Behrens! Ms. Sarah will be teaching our Broadway classes as well as our Dance Team Technique classes. Check out her bio in addition to the bios of the rest of our amazing staff at

Exercise Classes are in full swing, grab a friend and get your sweat on! Monday: Boot Camp 8-9pm, Struts and Stilettos 9-10pm. Tuesday: Cardio Kickboxing 6-7pm.  Friday: Zumba 7:30-8:30pm. Saturday: Zumba 9-10am. “A year from now, you will wish you had started today!”

From October 24th– October 30th the 2 through 6 year old classes will celebrate Halloween at JRDC. We love all of our students and want everyone to be able to participate; so due to peanut allergies, no food will be served and please do not send in any candy. The studio is CLOSED on Wednesday October 31st for Halloween! Be careful and have fun!

If anyone would like to join us and Team Jules at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund Walk, it is Sunday October 14th at Hecksher Park in East Islip. Please register at  All walkers should pledge a $10 donation. There will be complimentary food and drinks after the walk. If you would like a shirt, please hand in $8- to Jules or the desk along with the size you would like by Saturday October 6th.

The Yankee Candle Fundraiser was very successful for many of you, congrats! The order will be here in about 3 weeks, we will post on Facebook when it arrives. All profits will be applied to November tuition first unless you requested it be put towards costumes first. Stay tuned for information on our next fundraiser which will take place at the end of October!

Have you “Liked” us on Facebook yet? This is the best way to get up to the minute information about what is going on at the studio!

In November, we will begin measuring the students for recital costumes. Costumes range between $60-100; a $50- non-refundable per costume deposit is required by December 1st.

Please label all of your dance shoes with a permanent marker. Also please check the LOST & FOUND regularly, all items that are not labeled will be donated every Thursday ending in an odd number.

Attendance is important; please make every effort to make it to class. Make up classes are available if you must miss and should be taken within 2 weeks.

October Tuition is Due Today, any accounts not paid by October 10th will incur a $5 late fee.
